From a young age, it was apparent Michael had a knack for the family business, exuding the charisma, passion and innovative spirit necessary to succeed. The fourth generation in his family to work the spirits industry, Michael was groomed for the job by his grandfather, an innovator within the beer industry who founded two distributorships that, with the help of Michael’s father, have become two of the most successful in the country.
Michael paved his own way by working outside of the family business, building a unique set of skills and knowledge of the three-tier system that sets him apart in his field. With over 10 years working in the beverage industry, Michael has traveled the world helping to develop some of the most prestigious brands within the American market. Wanting to work outside the box, his passion and energy to import new brands inspired him to start B&D Spirits, where he can hone his skills and create something remarkable of his own.
JohnGarret Denise
Co-FOUNDER
A bit of an anomaly, John Garret Denise is an analytical thinker bursting with creativity and idealism. Formally trained as an engineer, he boasts an impressive résumé that has featured a number of corporate giants. With a canny ability to think outside the box and introduce wildly creative solutions to problems, he has conquered the oil industry and charmed billionaires with his savvy and technique. His extensive background in business operations and unconventional style make him an invaluable asset.
John Garret is passionate about exploring new ideas, fearlessly taking chances, and making his dreams into reality. His entrepreneurial spirit is paramount in the creation of B&D Spirits.
Rebecca Skoch
Director of Marketing
Rebecca has worked for the past five years as a beverage consultant and food writer. She has written about food for a variety of publications, with pieces having appeared nationally in Adweek, Plate Magazine, Time Out, and Tasting Table, among others. Her consulting company, Bobalky & Gnocchi, produces a series of high-end, curated food events across the country that sell out yearly to thousands of happy guests.
Previously, she worked with the esteemed James Beard Award Nominated beverage importer Vanberg & DeWulf as their Director of Marketing. Rebecca specializes in nationwide restaurant and bar knowledge, offering strategic logistical product placement with key account targeting. Her hobbies include baking elaborate wedding cakes, crafting food out of felt and trying to make ribs an acceptable choice at breakfast.
